Welcome to the Capstone Centre

If you are experiencing difficulties in your life that are significantly affecting your world and how you function on a day-to-day basis, then counselling and psychotherapy can help you to understand yourself and others better. We believe that each person has the potential to achieve positive change and that each client is unique and we recognise the importance of individualising the work to best suit you.

The Capstone Centre is located in Perth, Western Australia, South of the River in Applecross / Ardross.  Our practice is conveniently situated in the Riseley Business Precinct with accessibility to transport and ample parking.  We are a group of independent clinicians providing counselling and psychological services to clients who present with a range of issues.  We work closely with general practitioners and allied health professionals to provide a personalised approach to the care of the client. Our clinicians have a broad range of experience in both the public health system and private sector.  We offer short-term counselling, psychotherapy and psychological services.

As part of our commitment to excellence, this practice mentors psychology and counselling graduates and students at Masters Level.

Clinical Supervision

The Centre is committed to providing a clinical supervisory process and fostering an environment of personal and professional development for our supervisees. The supervision process includes case conceptualisation, sociocultural contexts, an awareness of diversity, and an emphasis on ethical decision-making processes.

The integration of theoretical knowledge, competence and competencies, experiential work, assessment processes, and clinical supervision, as well as the refinement of a personal counselling style and the development of collegial and professional relationships, are core elements of our practice.

Supervisee feedback regarding the supervisory process is an important part of the continual evaluation of the work and its relevance to industry standards and requirements, serving as a way to improve both the supervisory and learning experience.

We are committed to individual and cultural diversity in all aspects of our work and to providing current research material and clinical practice skills to engage in professional development, further developing skills relevant to the training of professional counsellors.

We strongly encourage our supervisees to create a healthy balance between their family, social life, and work.

External and Management Supervision

The management supervision process fosters an environment of personal and professional development, an awareness of diversity and an emphasis on ethical decision-making processes. Our focus is on the ability to work with systems in the workplace, both from an administrative and staff perspective and creating a supportive learning environment. The aim is to build effective relationships and collaborative work practices that will benefit the staff, the organisation and its clients.

Consultancy

Is your organisation considering making changes in the workplace?

Are you wanting to implement further training and education to enhance your organisation’s profile?

The Capstone Centre can provide your organisation with tailored training, coaching and support to reach your potential.

Effective change management requires the dissemination of accurate information to the organisation and staff. This information demonstrates a clear vision of the future of the organisation and its goals. Successful change management transitions utilise effective consultation processes, communication, staff support and sufficient resources to achieve their stated goals. Understanding how your staff responds to change is a vital key in your engagement and success for the future.

At the Capstone Centre we can tailor training for managers to assist them to effectively articulate the organisations vision and goals. We can provide focus groups and training for your staff to enable them to have a voice in the change process. The aim is to have everyone ‘on the same page’ to positively drive the change.

Josephine is a lecturer, trainer and educator, with expertise in training/workshop design and curriculum design and can provide the tools to assist you in changes in the workplace, or the provision of ongoing training to support your staff.
