Michaela is an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist. She has over 30 years of experience in the health sector including 20 years in nursing and 10 years in counselling.

Michaela has worked in Western Australia and the United Kingdom specialising in Oncology and palliative care, hospital and community, with clinical experience with adults.

Michaela has been a counsellor and psychotherapist for over 10 years after qualifying with a Masters in Health Counselling at Curtin University.  She qualified 6 years ago as a certified resilience coach, which can be used in combination with other interventions or stand alone for those who would like to focus on their resiliency and personal growth.

Michaela has worked extensively in the areas of chronic illness and neurological conditions. She is an active member of the International Association of Applied Neuroscience and PACFA keeping her up to date with current research and evidence-based practice.

Michaela uses an integrated approach to her therapy, with understanding of the mind-brain-body connection and the multi-directional effect it has on mood and health.  She approaches each client as a unique individual and creatively utilizes relevant information from an array of scientific disciplines.   In collaboration with the client, she will help formulate a plan to help them move forward and facilitate change, in a caring, compassionate and non-judgemental environment.
